Richard Heinrichs

Richard served with Agua Viva Ministries for over 15 years. He was one of the original board members, serving faithfully as the “right hand” man to Chuy Davalos; he helped Chuy transform his Agua Viva Vision into reality. Richard’s experience in Christian Camping in the Sierras of California lent itself to the development of the thriving camp that Agua Viva is today.  The memory of Richard Heinrichs’ life will live in the Agua Viva “Hall of Fame” for years to come.  Richard was a pioneer who helped blaze the way for the Ministries we know today.  Richard’s earthly work, his spiritual investment, is complete.  But now we know that he is one of our cheerleaders. Hebrews 12; “Do you see what this means—all these pioneers who blazed the way, all these veterans cheering us on? It means we’d better get on with it. Strip down, start running—and never quit!” These words ring out the spirit of our brother Richard Heinrichs.

Richard had a direct hand in building 15 of our current structures; including the residence that was built especially for Chuy and his family. He tirelessly worked at soliciting and transporting donations of needed tools, generators, and supplies. He loved working for the expansion of the Kingdom of God. Even when Richard went to be with his Lord and Savior, his desk was piled high with plans for work at Agua Viva.

The Board of Agua Viva, along with the Heinrichs family, has formed a Richard Heinrichs Memorial fund. Richard was an ordained minister himself and valued the study of God’s word. One of Richard’s dreams was to provide the books and relevant materials needed for the pastors and laypeople that are trained at our short-term Seminary. He had hoped that these books and materials would support the Seminary students as they return to their towns to preach of the Living Water needed to quench the thirsty souls of those who do not know of the love Jesus Christ.

If you have an interest in helping support his Memorial fund, just indicate “Heinrichs Memorial Fund” on your contribution. We have currently raised over $5000 for this fund.
