Do you have the gift of construction? Yeah? Then this is your year to shine at Agua Viva, because we are committed to completing the first phase of the seminary building by August, 2008, when our MTI students arrive!!

So far, in this 42’ x 70’ two-story phase that will hold 4-5 classrooms and the MTI offices, we have the foundation and steel structure in place, as well as the walls of the first floor, the beams of the second floor, the rough plumbing, and the roof. We need everything else!

Power Weekends in 2008....Power Weekends in 2008….OUR GREAT PLAN:

January 17-21, The POWER WEEKEND: Sign up now to come for a work weekend on the seminary building with other construction fanatics from all over the place. We want to gather as many strong, hard-working folks as we can to pitch in. Call it our version of barn-raising! We’ll have some good old gatherings in the evenings to fill the spirit. Here’s what we’re trying to accomplish that POWER WEEKEND:New MTI Construction...New MTI Construction…

  • Set stairway and pour base.
  • Pour solar house footing and floor, and stick-frame the building.
  • Lay steel decking, pan, form sides, lay wire mesh, and pour second floor.
  • Install division walls in office, closet walls, and doors in classrooms.
  • Dig form, tie rebar, and pour floor for bathroom.
  • Rough electrical for the solar and seminary building.
  • Stick-frame and divide seminary storage in Quad 5.
  • Install drainage and water lines.

Gather your tools and your crazy buddies, and come power away with us!

MTI New Building InteriorMTI New Building InteriorAfter the POWER WEEKEND, we’ll be hosting individual work groups to finish off the details. We need groups to:

  • help raise the $260,000 estimated necessary to complete the project
  • install windows and doors
  • drywall
  • plaster
  • install insulation
  • do carpentry
  • install electrical and plumbing

Cornerstone Church of Livermore, CA will be coming right after Easter.

(Tentative Dates are March 24-29, 2008)

Valley Christian Church will be coming in July.
