To work at Rancho Agua Viva (RAV) is to take advantage of a tremendous opportunity to learn about missions, about serving in another culture, about God, and about yourself. We are looking for people who are ready to risk and learn more about God’s global concerns for the world, about using their hands and feet for His cause, about truly loving people, about suffering for Christ. Could this be for you? Rancho Agua Viva is a Christian camp in Mexico dedicated to missions, with a special emphasis on evangelism and training believers to be missionaries in places where the Gospel has never been preached before. Many people come to RAV from Tijuana, Ensenada, Mexicali, and Sonora, but others will travel 3 1/2 days or more by train or bus to get to the camp just to learn more about the Good News of Christ. How far have you gone to learn more about Jesus?
As our Mexican friends come pouring into RAV, American youth groups come for Missions Awareness Ministry. This combination is ideal for many growth producing opportunities. Enabling American people to do what God has called them to do, whether it is to complete a work project at camp, to lead a youth outreach, children’s ministry, or something else, is our job. This puts us all in the position of depending on God, trusting Him to do the work. This is where you come in. We need a summer staff ready to work hard, to get down and dirty, ready to love and be loved. Could this be you?
If this interests you, read on…
A wide variety of events will take place throughout the summer. We participate in many community ministries, working with the local Mexican churches and orphanges. You will be asked to do a multitude of things, but mostly to be part of a team of people who have open hearts, are ready to give, to work hard, to listen and to humbly serve the Mexican people whom we love.
Our goals for summer staff are:
While Agua Viva Ministries does pay $50 per week, we recommend that summer staffers raise support to meet additional financial needs. Some of the expenses that should be considered are medical insurance, personal insurance, transportation to or from camp, Mexican auto insurance, or car maintenance if you bring your own vehicle. It can often be exciting to see how God provides through churches, family, friends, etc. One year a summer staffer raised enough support to significantly help with her college expenses! Raising support can also be a great faith stretching experience.
