Summer Testimonial

Hey Everybody,

Greetings from Agua Viva, where we’re taking off our summer “American Group” caps and putting on our “MTI” sombreros!

As we close the Summer 2009 chapter it’s worthwhile to reflect a moment on what it held and what it meant. I just got a sweet note from Jessie, one of our 2009 summer staffers, and here’s what she says God taught her this summer:

VBS“God is really huge. I think I believed this in my mind and I had traveled enough before to see how He was moving in other countries, but coming to Mexico with the express purpose of being a part of God’s heart for Mexico was something else entirely.

He has this huge idea for people that He uses other people to be a part of; for example, a new church for people in Paraiso [a colony outside of Ensenada] that He used a group from [Elk Grove,] California to build. Just seeing that happen was… what are the words for that? To get to be a part of it was just such a blessing, and I always took it for granted before that of course God lets us be a part of His plan. He doesn’t have to, but He loves to. How beautiful.

Building ParaisoPlus, I really saw how, though God does have this big plan for everyone, He is so right there with us in our own little journey through life that He will give us a Scripture or a word just for us when we are having a rough day. He is Almighty but also a Faithful friend—so so cool. And as a wise soul, or a few wise souls mentioned to me while I was there, the safest place to be is in the will of God.”
