Mauricio and Migda Leyva
Jalisco, Mexico.
Mauricio and Migda are from Mexicali and attended CECAM for two years, graduating in 2019. During their time at Agua Viva, they felt called by God to become missionaries in one of Mexico's most challenging regions, known as "the Circle of Silence." This area includes 115 towns and cities where less than 1% of the population knows the Gospel, and where idolatry, drug addiction, occultism, and other evils prevail.
Since 2020, they have been serving in Jalostotitlán, the heart of this "Circle of Silence." They have shared the Gospel through children's classes, music, special needs ministry, aiding the poor, and home groups. They have also established a church for new disciples, and three additional missionaries have joined their efforts. One of their first disciples, a woman named Concha, began studying at CECAM in 2024 to deepen her understanding of the Word and plans to return to Jalisco to serve.
Mauricio is an accomplished pianist and also works in IT and design. Migda is passionate about working with children. Both are currently pursuing degrees in psychology to better serve the people in their community and to create opportunities to share the Gospel in schools, cultural centers, and other venues. They have three children: Gael, Alissa, and Annia.
