Donato & Margarita Ochoa
Chiapas.
Donato, once a rough-and-tumble husband, was transformed when he gave his life to Christ at the age of fifty-two. His wife, Margarita, initially skeptical, faced her own divine intervention when a severe, inoperable back injury was miraculously healed through prayer, leading her to surrender her life to Christ.
Inspired by their home church's fervent commitment to missions, Donato and Magui took up the call, ignoring the common belief that missions were for young people.
After completing their studies at CECAM, they partnered with Javier and Carmela Mendez to reach the Mam people in Chiapas. This remote, untamed region of Mexico’s southern border presents numerous challenges, including death threats and physical hardships.
Despite these obstacles, Donato and Magui remain steadfast, driven by their belief that they have one life to live, and they choose to live it for Christ and the unreached. Their daughter Maggie will graduate from CECAM in 2026.
